With a new venture between Benelli and Mahavir Group, there have been many changes made to the existing lineup with future plans laid for additional bikes. Two of the bikes, from the previous DSK-Benelli lineup, have been discontinued to pave the way for the future bikes under the Benelli-Mahavir lineup. These are the TNT 25 and the TNT 600 GT.
The TNT 25 was powered by a 249cc engine that produced a maximum power of 28.16 hp and a peak torque of 21.61 Nm. It came mated to a 6-speed gearbox that allowed the bike to touch the top speed of 145 kmph. The design of the bike coupled with an advanced technology made it a steal at the price that it was offered. It came with the assurance of a strong build quality from Benelli and was quite an efficient sports bike. The only thing that disappointed the rider was the lack of an ABS on the bike. Benelli is now developing a new line of 250cc engines that will be featured on the TRK 250 and the Leoncino 250 in India. These upcoming bikes are planned for sometime in late 2019.
The TNT 600 GT drew its power from a 600cc engine that produced a maximum power of 83.9 hp and a peak torque of 54.6 Nm. The four-cylinder engine came coupled with a 6-speed gearbox and the bike was peaked at 210 kmph. It followed Benelli’s competitive design language and advanced technology. The bike was quite a value for money product and the only thing that held it back was the limited number of sales outlets in India. However, even with plans to expand the network of dealerships, the Mahavir-Benelli venture has decided to discontinue the bike from the lineup to pave the way for the TRK 502, which will be launched by the end of this financial year.
