Racing Red G310R Officially Revealed: An official invite from BMW clears that G310R and G310GS will launch in India on July 18, 2018. The event will mark the entry of popular lightweight BMW motorcycles into the Indian automotive segment.
As they were already being manufactured in India, fans were highly awaiting this date for a long time. BMW has internationally replaced the Blue shade with Racing Red scheme, leaving other two (White and Black) options intact. This means India will also get Red as its first BMW G310R shade. BMW is also preparing all dealerships to handle a large number of fans that may arrive after its launch.
BMW’s Chandigarh dealership now houses their flagship motorcycles along with all the cars on display. It is also possible that the brand has assigned the dealership with some additional duties to promote and collect bookings for the upcoming bikes.
Also, if this comes to be true, the number of touch-points for G310R and G310GS will increase by many folds and buyers would get an exclusive experience through every purchase. Expected price for both G310R and G310GS will stay under INR 3 lakh (ex-showroom). This tag will further decide the number of buyers who dream of owning a BMW bike one day.
The primary competitor to BMW G310R is KTM 390 Duke while G310GS can take on Royal Enfield Himalayan and Kawasaki Versys X-300 in India. Both these bikes are based on the same platform as Apache RR310 and, internal part sharing may help BMW decide a better price tag this month.
BMW G310R and G310GS use a powerful 313cc, single cylinder engine producing 33.6 HP at 9500 rpm and 28 Nm at 7500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Both these impressive bikes are available with full digital instrument console and BMW Motorrad 2-channel ABS as standard.
