CFMoto, the Chinese two-wheeler brand is all set to enter the Indian market on July 4, 2019. The brand will be launching 300NK, 650NK, 650GT, and 650MT on the said date. According to a report by IAB, the company will also be launching the CFMoto 300SR sports bike in India by the mid of the year 2020. The motorcycle will be based on the 250SR prototype which was revealed back in May 2019.
The concept motorcycle CFMoto 250SR was introduced as a quarter litre model with slick tyres, Akrapovic exhaust, and no headlights. The reports earlier suggested the 250SR to be launched in India soon but as per the latest details available, the brand will now be launching the same sportbike with a 300cc engine in India.
The all-new CFMoto 300SR will be based on the underpinnings of its naked streetfighter sibling 300NK, which is powered by a 292.4cc single cylinder engine that is capable of producing a maximum power of 33.5 HP at 7200 rpm and an utmost torque of 20.5 Nm at 8800 rpm. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The same engine specifications will be used for the 300SR which is further expected to offer two riding modes: sport and rain. The suspension duties will be handled by upside-down forks at the front while it will be getting a monoshock absorber at the rear. The CFMoto 300SR will be equipped with a coloured TFT instrument console as seen on the 250SR prototype.
In order to keep the cost-effectiveness, CFMoto will be using a standard exhaust system instead of the Akrapovic exhaust, and the brand will also replace the carbon-fibre fuel tank with more affordable materials. The upcoming sportbike will be competing in the market with the likes of TVS Apache RR 310 and KTM RC 390. As the CFMoto 300SR will be imported as a CKD unit, we can expect a competitive price tag of around INR 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Indian market.
