Ducati to Launch BS4 Diavel, Scrambler & Monster 821 Soon

Update | June 21, 2017 | Ducati to Launch BS4 Diavel, Scrambler & Monster 821 Soon

Ducati officially confirmed the comeback of discontinued products from its Indian lineup. They were discontinued due to BS3 compliant engines and would be relaunched in a phased manner. First, Ducati will bring back the Euro4/BS4 compliant Scrambler Icon and Classic by July 2017. The bookings for both of these bikes have already started. Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle will be made available by September 2017.

BS4 compliant Ducati Diavel Diesel will relaunch in August 2017 while standard Diavel and Monster 821 will be at the dealerships by October 2017. No news regarding the relaunch of Panigale 1299 was made, hinting at an brought to order procedure for the flagship Ducati motorcycle. Most probably, the high price tag would have made it difficult for Ducati to find a customer in the specific above liter class segment.

Ducati India recently took a bold move by removing Diavel, 1299 Panigale, Scrambler and Monster 821 from its official website. The reason for the same was their non-availability in BS4 engine. These bikes were still using Euro 3 spec engines and were not legal to be sold on the Indian roads.

Remember the huge discounts on Ducati Scrambler in December 2016? That was because they had to clear most of the Scramblers resting in their facility. Ducati was actually offering around 1.00-1.50 lakh of discount on these bikes before their official discontinuation.

As Scrambler has moved out of Ducati lineup in India, Monster 797 is now the most affordable Ducati motorcycle with a price tag of INR 7.77 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The engine on the motorcycle is the same 803cc, twin cylinder unit producing 75 HP at 8250 rpm and 68.9 Nm at 5750 rpm.

Monster 797 comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox but lacks the use of technological equipment like riding modes and traction control. These were available in Monster 821 as standard. Panigale 1299 was the most powerful motorcycle and also carried the highest price tag.

Diavel can now only be bought in the new Diesel (denim brand) variant and the xDiavel twins. All of these bikes will make a comeback once they are equipped with the new BS4 engines. Ducati now claims a solid spot in the entry level segment.

It rivals Triumph and Kawasaki’s entry level street fighters with even more ease now. The most impressive motorcycle in the lineup is Ducati 959 Panigale, carrying a price tag of INR 14.73 lakh and producing 157 HP. It weighs just 200 kg and claims a top speed of 289 kmph. 959 can be bought in just Red shade in the Indian market.
