Harley Davidson Not Coming at Auto Expo 2018: Harley Davidson, India’s number one big bike brand, will skip the Auto Expo 2018. This report is heartbreaking for fans who were waiting to have a glimpse of entire Milwaukee lineup. The reason is simple as they wish to spend more on promoting those bikes than spending more than INR 3-4 Crore for displaying these for six days.
Harley Davidson is presently offering 14 different motorcycles in the Indian lineup, starting right from Street 750 at INR 5.17 lakh and going up to the massively built CVO Limited at INR 53.72 lakh. The range exclusively filled with every possible cruiser design. Auto Expo 2018 is India’s most important automobile exhibition.
Kawasaki will benefit the most from Harley Davidson’s absence as they are ranking number two in superbike sales and further brought Vulcan S at the perfect time. Kawasaki India’s dealership number is smaller than Harley Davidson and thus, they will need to improve not just in visual but physical presence also.
Having different genre makes them good for two different segments but typical competition products like Street 750 and Vulcan S will bring tough rivalry in 2018. The recent launch of Milwaukee 107 engine by Harley Davidson made their bikes much more effective than before.
They are lighter, faster and more agile, thanks to newly developed suspension and frame components by the American manufacturer. Last quarter sales for Harley Davidson were pretty amazing as popular models like Fat Boy and Fat Bob were sold in huge numbers.
Harley Softail section now starts with Street Bob at INR 12.01 lakh. It comes with a powerful 1745 cc, twin cylinder engine producing massive 144 Nm at 3000 rpm. No other Indian manufacturer has such huge power on offer at this price tag. It weighs 298 kg in road ready form.
