Hero Karizma, the popular flagship motorcycle from the homegrown manufacturer, will get a third inning for the Indian market. A recent report in the automotive industry claims that the 2020 Hero Karizma will definitely launch in India as Hero has restarted the research process on its flagship model. The brand is working on a new model (Version 3) and they would re-enter the Indian premium motorcycle segment around Auto Expo 2020.
Once a tough rival to Bajaj Pulsar 220F, the BS4 model of Karizma ZMR is presently listed on the website for INR 1.08 lakh. Hero MotoCorp is well known of the fact that the brand is suffering a lot and they would take some time to make the Karizma fans happy once again. Hero Karizma was the best seller in its segment and that could happen again anytime in the future. The new Hero Karizma would bring a nostalgic experience to the fans who were waiting for a reboot after failure of Karizma V2.
The first generation of Hero Karizma was a true success story. The second generation had an EBR treatment on its design, which was the worst thing that could have happened to such a successful brand. No doubt, the engine and performance of the motorcycle was improved but the design issue created a mess for this successful product from the Hero lineup.
The Karizma R is not on-sale right now, and motorcycle was powered by a carburetor fed engine while the ZMR comes with a fully faired design and fuel injected engine. The Karizma R produces 19.2 BHP while the ZMR has an output of 20 BHP. The updated motorcycle could be named as Karizma Version 3.0 and would most probably carry liquid cooling instead of the oil cooler being used in the current generation. It may even get a 6-speed gearbox and thereby the claimed top speed could then be above 135 kmph for the ZMR version.
