BS6 Hero Motorcycle in the Making; India Launch Soon

BS6 Hero Motorcycle to Launch in India Soon: Hero MotoCorp is planning to launch their first, or even the industry’s first BS6-compliant motorcycle soon. The brand is working hard to keep the top space reserved for its products and never shy away from taking initiatives like implementing the highly awaited step by environmentalists as early as possible.

They recently launched three new products that are sharing the engine with the existing Xtreme 200R, leaving them with an option to consider upgrading the lineup before bringing any other product to the country. Hero expects a strong second half (October-March) for this financial year and upgrading their products during the period could help them keep up with both the pace and priority of the market at that moment.

The first quarter may stay weak for the products from almost all brands. The current Hero scooter lineup uses three different engines and taking all of them further may not be a feasible option. The 110cc and 125cc motor will be upgraded while the smaller 102cc will be left behind for sure. On the motorcycle side, they presently have a lot more listed on their website than the actual products that will fall under the BS6-compliant list.

The switch of the 200cc engine to the BS6 league will update four products at once while the chances of the 150cc Achiever and Xtreme Sports, and the 223cc Karizma making to the list are thinner than ever. The 125cc engine shared in the new Glamour and Super Splendor will also be updated, subtracting two older engines in their older variants that are listed on the official website till date.

The update in 110cc and 98cc engine will further strengthen their numbers as HF Deluxe, Splendor and Passion series use these engines and leave behind the remaining models. Overall, the list of Hero motorcycles and scooters will be trimmed to around 15 examples instead of the 26 products listed under the BS4 emission norms.
