The BS6 certification of the motorcycle was initially revealed by the brand in June 2019 while the recent launch has made them ahead of their direct rival Honda, who is planning to launch its first-ever BS6 motorcycle on November 14, 2019.

Powering the Hero Splendor iSmart is a BS6-compliant 113.2cc engine that replaces the 109.15cc engine on the outgoing version. The single-cylinder, air-cooled engine is capable to generate a maximum power of 9.1HP @ 7,500 rpm, which is comparatively less when compared to the 9.5HP generated by the BS4-compliant engine.

However, the torque has increased by a total of 10% and now stands at 9.89Nm. The ground clearance of the motorcycle has also been increased by 15mm without changing the seat height, and it now stands at 180mm.

The brand has equipped the motorcycle with a catalytic converter that further ensures cleaner combustion by reducing the CO2 emission by 45% while the use of oil filter improves the engine life. The i3S technology used for the engine ensures the proper functioning of the Idle Start and Stop System.

The customers can further avail the motorcycle in 2 variants: disc brake and drum brake. The BS6-compliant model of the Hero Splendor iSmart gets a 36mm wider wheelbase for utmost stability on the road while weighs 1kg more than the ongoing version.

The design of the motorcycle has been retained when compared to the BS4 Splendor variant though, one can notice minor tweaks at the front and the rear while the headlight now offers more brightness.
