Hero MotoCorp Discontinues 10 Bikes in India
After the discontinuation of slowly selling Hero Impulse, we reported the discontinuation of Hero HF Dawn, Splendor Pro Classic and Splendor iSmart (old model) from the Indian lineup. Days after this change, Hero removed Karizma R, Xtreme and Hunk from the official website. When we thought that it was everything, models named Ignitor, Passion xPro and Passion Pro TR went missing from the website.
List of Discontinued Hero Bikes
Note: Hero Xtreme Sports is available
This took the total number of discontinued models to 10. There are even rumors regarding the comeback of certain models with BS4 engines in the coming months. Hero MotoCorp’s list of scooters remain intact as all three of them (Maestro Edge, Duet and Pleasure) were updated with AHO and BS4 compliant engines.
The current lineup has 16 products with the newly added Glamour SV. The current lineup of motorcycles include Karizma ZMR, Xtreme Sports, Achiever, Glamour, Splendor, Passion and HF Deluxe. Out of all these, the Karizma ZMR may get discontinued as the price is not shown on the official website.
Reshuffled Hero Lineup on the Official Website
Hero’s major volume generators include Splendor, HF Deluxe and Passion. Glamour is even a highest selling motorcycle but its new version is yet to be receive the same treatment as the older one. The rise in prices of the new version could see a fall in its sales. Hero MotoCorp is expected to make a deal with VW regarding the Ducati brand, helping them improve their image worldwide.
