Hero to Launch 2 New Scooters in India: Hero MotoCorp, the two-wheeler giant, is on a roll with the launch of its new 200cc motorcycles. In addition to them, the brand is all set to launch two new scooters in India on May 13, 2019. The two scooters are expected to be the much-awaited Hero Maestro Edge 125, and the Pleasure 110.
Hero unveiled two 125cc scooters at the 2018 Auto Expo, one of which has been already launched in India as Destini 125, and the 2nd one will be the Maestro Edge 125. The updated version of Hero Pleasure with a 110cc engine will also be launched at the same event.
Powering the Hero Maestro Edge 125 will be a 124.6cc, air-cooled, single cylinder engine inspired from the Destini 125, capable of churning out a maximum power of 8.7 HP at 6,750 rpm and a peak torque of 10.2 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The engine will be mated to the brand’s patented i3S technology that offers better fuel economy.
The suspension duties will be handled by telescopic forks at the front and a spring-fitted hydraulic damper at the rear end. The top end variant of the Maestro Edge 125 will feature front disc brake while the entry-level variant will get drum brakes at both ends. The scooter will feature Integrated Braking System (IBS) to ensure the rider’s safety.
On the other hand, the updated Hero Pleasure is all set to get the 110cc engine from the Duet scooter. The 110.9cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine is capable of generating a maximum power figure of 8 HP and a peak torque of 8.7 Nm, while the exact rpm levels for the Pleasure 110 will be revealed at the time of the official launch.
The 125cc Hero Maestro Edge scooter is expected to get a price tag ranging between INR 55,000-INR 60,000 and will compete in the market with the likes of TVS NTorq 125, Suzuki Access 125, and the Honda Activa 125. As far as the price of Hero Pleasure 110 is concerned, it is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 45,000. Once launched, the 110cc Pleasure will compete against the likes of Yamaha Fascino and the Honda Dio.
