The Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition has been revealed ahead of its Indian launch. It has new bold graphics in red and black for a sporty appearance. They painted the engine head red, as opposed to the standard Xpulse engine head’s silver finish. The suspension and exhaust have been completely blacked out, and the headlamp clamps have been greyed out. The photos were most likely taken during an internal dealership event.
Overall, the bike appears to be massive, with true off-road attire. Off the road, it’s likely to deliver some serious performance. The bike is expected to kick-start the country’s off-roading culture. Hero is preparing not only the Rally Edition but also an updated Rally Kit for existing Xpulse customers. The kit, which is already available for Rs. 38,000, will see minor changes this time around.
Previously, a leaked type approval certificate revealed the dimensions of both the Rally Edition and the standard model equipped with the Rally Kit. Both iterations have larger dimensions than the standard model. While the Rally Kit has dimensions of 2243mm, 850mm, and 1308mm, the Rally Edition has dimensions of 2255mm, 850mm, and 1320mm. While the Rally Kit’s wheelbase has been increased to 1419mm, the Rally Edition’s wheelbase is even longer at 1427mm.
Both iterations will be based on the Xpulse 200 4V model, rather than the 2 valve model. The Rally Kit is 1 kg heavier and the Rally Edition is 2 kg heavier than the standard Xpulse 200 4V. Increased suspension travel at both ends accounts for the increased dimensions. Expect higher ground clearance and seat height. The hero will come with a slew of accessories when both versions are released. When it is released, the Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition will be the country’s first true-blooded production off-roader.
