Hero MotoCorp is currently India’s best-selling motorcycle manufacturer. Hero continues to innovate with budget commuters such as the Splendor and HF Deluxe series. The festive seasons are prime times for every 2W manufacturer in the country for pushing sales.
Special editions of existing products are another smart strategy for increasing sales. Hero MotoCorp followed suit with its Xtreme 160R. The Xtreme 160R Stealth 2.0 Edition expands on the previously available Stealth Edition.
Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition 2.0 includes Hero Connect. It allows you to track the bike’s real-time location and receive notifications when it exceeds a pre-set speed limit. The Stealth Edition is also black with red accents on the fork bottoms, engine head, mono-shock, pillion footrest hangers, and rear grab rails. It also has knuckle guards, which are not found on other Xtreme models. Although the knuckle guards clash with the overall silhouette of the bike.
The Stealth Edition is mechanically identical to the standard Xtreme 160R. A 163cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine generates maximum power of 15.2 hp and 14 Nm of peak torque. The Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition is equipped with a 37mm telescopic fork and a seven-step preload adjustable mono-shock. The front brakes are 276mm petal discs and the rear brakes are 220mm discs with single-channel ABS. The Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition 2.0 is outfitted with a 100/80-17 front tyre and a 130/70-R17 rear tyre.
Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition 2.0 costs Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is Rs 7,000 more than the previous Stealth Edition and Rs 9,000 more than the dual disc variant of the Xtreme 160R. Competitors include the Bajaj Pulsar N160, Suzuki Gixxer, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, and Yamaha FZ-FI.
