CBR250R Sales Report: Honda’s 250cc CBR made an exclusive entry in India at 2018 Auto Expo. The motorcycle is now priced at INR 1,64,143 for standard and INR 1,93,666 for ABS-equipped version. Honda sold a total of 1198 units for both these variants since its launch in Feb 2018.
They brought back their most trusted motorcycle with a boom as it now offers Sports Red, Pearl Sports Yellow, Matte Axis Gray Metallic with Striking Green and Mars Orange shade on both variants. The number is smaller in comparison to similarly priced motorcycles and thus, Honda needs to work more on their marketing strategy for 2018 CBR250R.
The ABS equipped version features Nissin brakes while those found on standard option are from Bybre. They have added LED headlight to this package to make it more effective in comparison to Yamaha FZ25 and Fazer 25. The 249cc, single cylinder engine used on the motorcycle is good for 26.5 HP and 22.9 Nm of torque.
Many long-distance riders have praised CBR250R for being ultra-reliable and comfortable in different weather conditions. Unfortunately, they still offer the same semi-digital instrument console that was seen on the original version.
Honda claims 135 kmph of top speed for CBR250R but riders have extracted a bigger number on Indian highways. It rivals Yamaha Fazer 25, Mahindra Mojo and TVS Apache RR310, all belonging to different price zones and engine sizes. Honda has no current plans to launch a bigger 300cc variant of CBR in India.
