As per the latest details available, Suzuki Burgman Street 125 will be launched in India on July 19, 2018. Suzuki is on a launching spree as they recently launched GSX-S750 and 1-channel ABS variant of Gixxer 155 in India.
Suzuki won’t get an easy entry to this segment as buyers have well accepted newly launched 125cc products like Honda Grazia, TVS NTorq 125 and Aprilia SR125. All three serve specific fans while segment leader belong to Suzuki itself (Access 125). Sharing engine will help them place it better against rivals as most brands are following this strategy in India.
Honda Activa 125 and Grazia share engines while TVS has a single 125cc option for India. Expected price for Suzuki Burgman Street stays INR 65,000. The imposing front fascia is complemented by its LED headlight. Upper section comes with an impressive handlebar and relatively decent windscreen.
Suzuki seems to be using smaller 12 inch wheels and that could result in overall stance reduction of Burgman Street. Instrument console will be fully digital while rear half will definitely feel much smaller than its front section. Suzuki will use a single piece grab rail and LED rear light on this scooter.
Burgman Street will be using the refined 124cc, air cooled engine producing 8.7 PS at 7000 rpm and 10.2 Nm at 5000 rpm. The engine comes mated to an automatic gearbox. Front disc brake will come standard on the scooter is they plan to price it on the higher side.
As both NTorq and Grazia are primary rivals to Burgman Street, Suzuki will need to offer an advanced feature list for its instrument console. Due to its aerodynamic front end, buyers will prefer Burgman Street for their everyday travel. Sporty exhaust and body integrated indicators further raise its overall visual appeal by large extent.
