Honda CB Shine created a new milestone in the Honda lineup as it recently sold more than 1 lakh units in April 2017. The 125cc commuter market has only limited number of players and Honda CB Shine ranks number one out of all those models.
Not just that, it is the only 125cc model to surpass the barrier and sell 1,00,824 units in April. A strong 51 percent growth was witnessed in the YoY growth chart where CB Shine sold 66,691 units in April 2016. Honda now has a share of 54 percent in the 125 cc segment.
Honda Shine is currently in its 11th year and the boost in sales can be dedicated more to Honda CB Shine SP with low resistance tyres. Honda CB Shine is powered by a 124.7 cc, single cylinder engine producing 10.57 BHP at 7500 rpm and 10.30 Nm at 5500 rpm.
The engine comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox on the standard variant while SP variant comes with a 5-speed gearbox. Honda claims a top speed of 100 kmph for its Shine while it can be had in a wider variety of shades with exciting graphics.
Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “With a legacy of more than one decade, CB Shine is the most important motorcycle brand in our line-up. Driven by continuous innovation, CB Shine brand alone contributes 55 per cent to Honda’s motorcycle sales. Such is the shine of the brand with Honda’s high quality and reliability that today every second 125cc motorcycle customer in India is buying a CB Shine.”
