The CBS-equipped disc brake variants of Honda Aviator, Activa 125, Grazia and CB Shine that have been manufactured between 4th Feb to 3rd July this year, have been recalled by the brand considering an issue with the front brake master cylinder. According to the brand, 50,034 units of all these 2-wheelers have been recalled over at the dealerships to fix the impending issue.
The brand has agreed in a statement that the quality issue in the master cylinder of the front brake can cause difficulty in the rotation of the front wheel which can further cause it to jam in some uncertain and extreme conditions. The company officials will be inspecting the vehicles with the said fault before replacing the part.
Commenting on the recalling of multiple two-wheeler variants, HMSI officials stated “With customer safety and comfort its utmost priority, Honda as a precautionary measure, will voluntarily inspect these models manufactured between February 4 to July 3, 2019. Company will replace the suspected part, if required, on free of cost basis irrespective to the affected vehicles warranty status.”
Recently, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have also been in the news for seizing spurious goods in the raid carried out by Honda’s Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) enforcement team with the help of the local police. The teams were able to carry out 4 raids in North and East where they have counterfeit spurious parts worth INR 49 lakhs.
In addition to this, the brand recently unveiled the Honda Activa 125 with a BS6 engine in June. The all-new BS6-compliant scooter with a fuel-injected engine will be launching in September this year. The brand has equipped the scooter with an advanced 125cc engine and a redesigned instrument panel. The cosmetic and mechanical changes made to the scooter ensures the least emission levels and increased mileage.
