Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has introduced the Shine Celebration Edition, which has a starting price of Rs. 78,878 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It comes with an INR 1500 premium over the regular variant.
The new Celebration Edition has a new look with its Golden theme, which includes Golden stripes, a Golden wing mark emblem, and the Celebration Edition logo on the tank top, among other things.
The bike also receives a Golden garnish at the front, a new Saddle Brown seat, Golden accents on the side covers, and a Matte Axis Grey Metallic muffler cover. Matte Sangria Red Metallic and Matte Steel Black Metallic are the two colours available.
The new special edition, like the existing model, is available with both front drum and disc brakes. Honda Shine is the country’s third best-selling two-wheeler, selling over one lakh units per month. Honda sold a whopping 1,25,947 Shine and SP125 units in June 2022, representing a 75 per cent year-on-year increase.
A 123.94cc engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox produces 10.59 HP at 7500 RPM and 11 Nm at 6000 RPM. The bore and stroke measurements are 50 mm and 63.1 mm, respectively, which is typical of long stroke configurations such as the recently launched Bajaj CT125X.
The engine is supported by a Diamond frame with telescopic shocks up front and hydraulic units at the rear. The wheelbase measures 1285 mm, and the seat height is 791 mm. Honda Shine rides on 18-inch wheels wrapped with 80/100-18 tyres at both ends.
“Renowned famously as one of the most appealing executive motorcycles, brand Shine continues to delight millions of Indians in their journey on two-wheels. I am confident that the all-new celebration edition avatar will light up the festival vibes and bring new delight to our customers,” said HMSI’s Managing Director, President, and CEO, Atsushi Ogata.
