Honda CB125M & CB125X Concept Bikes Officially Revealed

Honda CB125M and CB125X Concept machines are now official. Remembering the time when 125cc, two-stroke machines were good for up to 30hp of massive output, Honda presented their 125cc concepts that are inspired by the section of riders who need restricted power output before getting into the new league of unrestricted riders. Honda CB125M is a supermoto by birth while CB125X features off-road potential to the max in the limited power section. The emphasis is given on reduction in weight, returning better than ever power to weight ratio from these bikes. The part sharing phenomenon of Honda means that turning them into reality may not take that much as expected.

Honda CB125R serves as a base for both the concepts, sharing the engine and frame among all three of them. Being specific use products among the pool of regular bikes, both the options are available with ample ground clearance and engine protection. Honda has not revealed any exact data for the concepts, leaving fans with just visual guesses on the equipment list. The supermoto version comes with alloy wheels and misses on the front fender while CB125X is available with spoke rims, huge front tire and proper mudguard for the front.

Both the concepts were shown with SC Project exhaust, fully digital console and knuckle guards. The designs were made in Italy and power is most probably restricted to the 15hp upper limit. The potential hidden in both the products confirm that Honda will come up with an unrestricted version for a specific use, getting more than 25hp from the same lightweight machine that was restricted as per the law for road riding. The tires on both the concepts show a clear difference, with X version getting the purpose made thick tread units and M getting sticky flat rubber for high-speed tarmac riding.
