Honda Sales Report: Honda India posted record sales for year 2017 with 57,94,893 units for the full year. This is the first time when Honda has crossed the 50 lakh sales mark in India.
Honda Activa and CB Shine takes all the credit of this huge achievement as no other product was even sold closer to their number in the company lineup.
They registered the highest growth in December 2017, fetching almost 3.63 lakh buyers. The same month last year had just 2.05 lakh buyers for Honda products, helping them claim 77% growth for the year ending month. Almost two-third of the share came from scooter segment.
Recently launched Honda Grazia has even picked up sales like no other scooter in the Indian market. It comes with premium features and thus, buyers with lesser emphasis on price and more on technology went into that direction.
Honda CB Hornet 160R is another success story for the brand. It has created a niche following for itself in India with owners suggesting others to buy for its robust built and exciting mileage. However, ride feels more commuterish when compared to rival like Pulsar NS160.
Grazia is in a race to to leave Suzuki Access 125 behind this year. Honda is India’s second best selling brand in two wheeler market. Unlike Hero Moto Corp, Honda has a long list of products that are into the superbike segment. They have recently introduced 2018 Goldwing in India with two separate variants.
CBR series comes with 650F and 1000RR variant for the Indian market. Honda has the largest scooter lineup among all with Dio, Activa, Grazia, Navi and much more in terms of unique variants under these monikers. They are planning to grab the number one spot but that requires more inputs into the Dream series for defeating Hero Splendor.
