Bajaj Auto recently revealed the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 at the ‘India Bike Week 2019’ in Vagator, Goa. Technically, the motorcycle is based on the 250cc KTM Duke and in terms of design, it is heavily inspired by the Svartpilen 401, which is a retro-modern streetfighter.
The 250cc Husqvarna bike will be launched in the Indian market on 14th February next year, and it will be sold through KTM ProBiking dealerships. In terms of pricing, the Svartpilen 250 is expected to get a price tag of around INR 2.20-2.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 is powered by a 248.8cc single-cylinder 4-stroke BS6-compliant engine that generates a maximum power of 31HP @ 9000 rpm and a maximum torque of 24Nm @ 7250 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The suspension duties of the motorcycle are handled by USD telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock absorber at the rear.
The braking performance of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 is handled by a 320mm front disc brake and a 230mm rear disc brake, which are further mated to BOSCH 2-channel ABS. The bike is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, which sets it apart from the international-spec Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 that features spoke wheels as standard.
