GST Effect: Indian Motorcycle Slashes Price by up to Rs 2.21 lakh

A drop of 12 percent saw Indian Scout getting a price tag of INR 12.99 lakh. The same was priced at INR 14.75 lakh before July 1, 2017 and now seems more in competition with existing cruisers of India.

Indian Chief Dark Horse saw 9 percent of price reduction to INR 21.25 lakh from INR 23.40 lakh. Indian Chief Classic is now priced at INR 21.99 lakh and fell under the same 9 percent drop category. It was earlier priced at INR 24.20 lakh. Surprising fact is that GST saw an increase of 1 percent of tax on bikes above 350cc.

Indian Scout is Now Available for INR 12.99 lakh in India

Indian Scout is powered by a 1133cc, twin cylinder engine producing 97.7 Nm at 5900 rpm. The motorcycle weighs 253 kg and rivals Harley Davidson Fat Bob in its segment.

Indian Chief Classic and Dark Horse use the same 1811cc, twin cylinder engine producing 138.9 Nm at 2600 rpm.
