GST Effect: Indian Motorcycle Slashes Price by up to Rs 2.21 lakh

GST was another chance for motorcycle brands to revise the price list and place all of these at the most effectively possible slots in India. American cruiser manufacturer ‘Indian Motorcycles’ has recently made changes to few of its products in their current lineup.

The post GST prices saw a drastic drop of up to INR 2.21 lakh while ace rival Harley Davidson has hiked the prices for entire lineup by around the same margin. This makes Harley more vulnerable to the effect of price drop by Indian Motorcycles.

Indian Chief Classic is Now Available for INR 21.99 lakh in India

A drop of 12 percent saw Indian Scout getting a price tag of INR 12.99 lakh. The same was priced at INR 14.75 lakh before July 1, 2017 and now seems more in competition with existing cruisers of India.

Indian Chief Dark Horse saw 9 percent of price reduction to INR 21.25 lakh from INR 23.40 lakh. Indian Chief Classic is now priced at INR 21.99 lakh and fell under the same 9 percent drop category. It was earlier priced at INR 24.20 lakh. Surprising fact is that GST saw an increase of 1 percent of tax on bikes above 350cc.

Indian Scout is Now Available for INR 12.99 lakh in India

Indian Scout is powered by a 1133cc, twin cylinder engine producing 97.7 Nm at 5900 rpm. The motorcycle weighs 253 kg and rivals Harley Davidson Fat Bob in its segment.

Indian Chief Classic and Dark Horse use the same 1811cc, twin cylinder engine producing 138.9 Nm at 2600 rpm. This makes it the most powerful option at such low rpm, helping rider cruise effortlessly for long distances. It can be clearly defined as a cross continent tourer with all sort of modern facilities within the package.
