Jawa Motorcycles India recently donated INR 1.49 Crore to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. The amount was collected through the auction of 13 Jawa Signature Edition models, collectively making this huge amount and taking the bid for chassis number 001 to INR 45 lakh at the event. Actress Gul Panag is one of the 13 owners and she expressed her feeling through her Twitter handle. Here’s what she said for the Jawa’s praiseworthy initiative.
“Proud & honoured to have been a small part of this landmark contribution to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund with @jawamotorcycles. Eagerly awaiting mine from the 13 bikes that were auctioned for the #ForverHeroes initiative that raised ₹1.49 cr.”
Jawa has delivered just a handful of motorcycles to the lucky owners and all others are waiting in the queue to have their selected bikes delivered to them. The buyers who booked their Jawa motorcycles at the time of launch (in the first two days) will get the deliveries by May 2019 while no hint has been given by the brand regarding the deliveries of the rest of the bookings. Here is the list of Jawa Signature Edition chassis numbers and their respective winning bid.
Jawa 300 and Jawa 42 are powered by the same 293cc, liquid cooled and fuel injected engine, producing 27 HP of maximum power and 28 Nm of maximum torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and claims rivalry with Royal Enfield and UM Motorcycles in the Indian market.
