Classic Legends recently announced that they have officially commenced the deliveries for the Jawa dual-channel ABS motorcycles in the Indian market. The first motorcycle with a 2-channel ABS unit has been delivered to a customer in Pune. The authorized Jawa dealer, Shakti Automobiles, delivered a Jawa 42 in Lumos Lime shade to Mr Akshay Pehere on July 30, 2019.
Jawa Motorcycles compete directly with the likes of Royal Enfield Classic series, that has not faced any competition for a long time. Classic Legends launched the Jawa 300 and the Jawa 42 back in November 2018 further starting deliveries in March 2019 for the single-channel ABS variants, and now the brand has also commenced the deliveries for the dual-channel ABS models. Both the Jawa 300 and Jawa Forty-Two are powered by a 293cc, single-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 27 Bhp and a peak torque of 28 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Last year, the company also revealed one more product namely Jawa Perak. It initially received a price tag of INR 1,89,000 but the model’s booking dates are yet to be announced. The bobber is equipped with a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, and generates 30 BHP of maximum power and a peak torque of 31 Nm. Jawa Perak is expected to go on sale in the Indian market in early 2020.
About the brand resurrection, the founder of Classic Legends, Anupam Thareja, said that Jawa is an authentic brand that aligns with the desire of people for adventure and freedom.
At present, Jawa 42 is available for INR 1.55 lakh for the 1-channel ABS variant and INR 1.64 lakh for the 2-channel ABS model. The retro model Jawa 300 is priced at INR 1.64 lakh for the single-channel ABS model and INR 1.73 lakh for the dual-channel ABS variant. All the prices mentioned here are ex-showroom Delhi.
