Last year on November 15, Classic Legends launched the Jawa Standard and the Forty-Two in the Indian market. In addition to these 2 motorcycles, the brand also showcased the Perak Bobber with a price tag of INR 1,89,000 (ex-showroom) and promised to launch it at a later stage.
Now exactly after one year, Classic Legends has launched the Perak in India with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1,94,500 (ex-showroom). The motorcycle is said to be the most affordable product in the bobber segment in India.
The Jawa Perak is the new flagship product from the brand that is equipped with a higher displacement engine and a variety of unique components. It is the third Jawa bike whereas it is the first bobber being offered by the brand for the Indian market.
Talking about the features of the bike, it is equipped with a preload-adjustable rear monoshock, which has been positioned under the seat. The Jawa Perak also comes packed with a single, cantilevered rider’s seat.
Along with that, there is a long and sleek rear fender that also supports the turn indicators that are present towards the rear wheel. The tail lamp has been positioned below the rider’s seat while the brand has equipped the motorcycle with round bar-end mirrors.
Jawa has built the Perak Bobber on a double cradle chassis, with a longer swingarm than its siblings that provides the bike with an increased wheelbase and a head-turning appearance. Apart from the aforementioned features, the bike is also packed with a pair of conventional forks at the front.
Mechanically, the Jawa Perak is powered by a 334cc BS6-compliant liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. It delivers a maximum power of 30HP and a peak torque of 31Nm. The engine performs in combination with a 6-speed gearbox. In terms of safety, the bike is equipped with a 2-channel ABS unit as standard.
The motorcycle manufacturer has rolled out the bike at a price tag of INR 1.95 Lakh (ex-showroom). It’s also interesting to note that being from the niche segment, as of now, the Jawa Perak does not have a rival in the Indian market. Jawa will begin to accept pre-bookings for the Perak from 1st January while the deliveries will begin from April 2, 2020.
