The 2019 Kawasaki Ninja 250 has been officially introduced in Indonesia, and the latest version of the quarter-litre motorcycle comes with a smart key (keyless ignition) system. The updated motorcycle was also displayed at the recent 2019 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show.
The bike comes in a pack with the KIPASS (Kawasaki’s Intelligent Proximity Activation Start System) technology which allows activation of the main switch (ignition) and the steering lock via a remote. Other than the smart key feature, the 2019 model of the Kawasaki Ninja 250 receives a visual upgrade in the form of a new paint scheme – Red and Black.
The red paint has been used as the base, while the black shade adds contrast to the styling. The black colour on the bike can be spotted on the fairing, side panels and on the lower half of the rear panel.
Other than the addition of keyless ignition system and the new paint scheme, rest everything on the bike remains the same. Like the Indonesia-specific 2018 model, the latest iteration uses a rear cowl for a sporty look. The key features for the sports bike include a full LED headlight, an analogue-digital instrument console, petal-type disc brakes on both wheels with ABS.
Mechanically, the bike uses a 249cc parallel twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine that comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The fuel-injected motor is good enough to produce 39HP of maximum power at 12,500 rpm and 23.5 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 rpm.
The 2019 Kawasaki Ninja 250 with new red paint scheme is available at Rp 75,500,000 (INR 3.70 lakh approximately) in the Indonesian market. As of now, Kawasaki has no plans to launch the new Ninja 250 in the Indian market.
