2020 Kawasaki Z650 Officially Revealed

The first day of EICMA 2019 saw the unveiling of the 2020 Kawasaki Z650 street motorcycle. Equipped with a host of updated features, the motorcycle is now available to the customers in three new colour schemes namely Candy Lime Green/Metallic Spark Black, Metallic Spark Black and lastly Pearl Blizzard White/Metallic Spark Black.

Coming to the design language, the motorcycle has been adorned with a sleeker profile in addition to getting a minimalistic front fairing. The front fascia of the motorcycle now features an LED headlight unit, which is one of the most anticipated updates expected from the Japanese brand for the 2020 Z650.

The 10.9cm coloured TFT instrument console offered to the motorcycle replaces the standard unit seen on the previous-gen model. The all-new display features Kawasaki’s Economical Riding Indicator in addition to getting a gear position indicator, fuel gauge, shift-lamp and more.

The motorcycle can be further connected to a dedicated application with the use of Bluetooth-enabled console, specifically featuring GPS features for auto-location detection, vehicle service status and other riding stats.

Coming to the other updates, the pillion seat setup has been equipped with better padding to offer more comfortable touring. The use of Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres further offers utmost stability on the road. The green detailing offered to the trellis frame further adds to the motorcycle’s exclusivity and sets it apart from the previous-gen variant.

The suspension duties continue to be handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear features a mono-shock unit. The 2020 Kawasaki Z650 features twin-disc brakes at the front and a single disc brake at the rear. The updated Z560 will be made available to the international markets in the coming days while the Indian enthusiasts will have to wait till next year for availing the 2020 Kawasaki Z650.

Mechanically, the 2020 model of the Kawasaki Z650 continues to be powered by the same 649cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 68HP @ 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 64NM @ 6700 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The company claimed mileage of the bike stands at 22.22kmpl.
