The 2018 model of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 was originally priced at INR 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom) in Delhi. However, due to internal localization, the price of the bike has been dropped by INR 62,000. The locally assembled Ninja 300 is available with a price tag of INR 2.98 lakh. This pits the Ninja 300 against the KTM RC 390, which is priced at INR 2.36 lakh. It also makes the bike cheaper than the Yamaha R3, which is priced at INR 3.48 lakh.
The higher priced Ninja was the CKD variant with low levels of localization, while the one that we will now get at the lower price is the heavily localized CKD variant made locally in India. With the new prices, dealerships across India are offering huge discounts of up to INR 60,000 to the customers who want the old model of the Ninja 300. The Ninja that is being made in India comes with 2-channel ABS as standard, and the bike also gets a new color scheme of Lime Green/Ebony and Candy Plasma Blue with a big Ninja sticker on side panels.
The ABS that is offered as standard now was absent from the old model. Mechanically, there are no changes and both the models are powered by a 296cc 2-cylinder engine with maximum power of 39 HP and maximum torque of 27 NM.
The suspension duties are handled by 37mm front telescopic forks and a monoshock at the rear. There are disc brakes on both the ends of the bike. The instrument console has an all-digital speedometer and odometer with 2 trip meters, while the tachometer remains analogue.
