Coronavirus Lockdown: Kawasaki Extends Warranty Validity in India

Kawasaki Extends Warranty Validity in India: Kawasaki has recently announced that they are extending the warranty on the motorcycles that will lapse between 1st March 2020 and 30th April 2020. The warranty for such vehicles has been extended until June 30, 2020. This decision by the brand has been taken due to the coronavirus pandemic as India is currently under lockdown till 3rd May 2020 which could be increased further considering the condition of different regions.

The brand has taken this initiative so that customers do not miss out on the benefits due to the situation arisen because of the coronavirus. Previously, the brand had announced that their production activities have been temporarily suspended from April 1, 2020, to April 14, 2020. Now as the lockdown has been extended by the Indian government, it means that the suspension by the company would be extended too. Kawasaki India has not yet commented regarding the same though.

Coronavirus Lockdown: Kawasaki Extends Warranty Validity in India

According to one of the recent updates, the Indian government is considering reopening Industrial activities that include manufacturing as well. But this would happen in only those areas which are not COVID-19 hotspots. However, the automobile industries do not fall under the category of industries that will be allowed to operate during the lockdown.

Due to the coronavirus crisis, the brand has postponed several events in the Indian and International markets. The much-talked-about Ninja ZX-25R was scheduled to launch in Indonesia on April 4, 2020, which was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

For India, the brand had plans to launch the updated 2021 BS6-compliant versions of the Ninja 650 and the Z650. Now both the bikes are listed as ‘Coming Soon’ on the brand’s official website. The nationwide lockdown has resulted in other brands also extending their warranty deadlines. Brands such as KTM, Yamaha, TVS, Honda and Bajaj are among them.
