Kawasaki Ninja 650 registered 87 units in July 2018, taking the overall sales growth up to 278% in the 31-day period. In comparison, the brand sold 23 units of Ninja 650 in July 2017. The number generally stays under 50 for most months of the year. Kawasaki is yet to deliver the locally manufactured Ninja 300 and thus, it was seen with a zero score for July 2018. It seems like Ninja 300 will emerge as the most selling product of its class in August 2018 sales. Ninja 650, on the other hand, is a very capable middleweight machine with mild touring capabilities and dedicated sportbike feel. The motorcycle is priced at INR 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The claimed top speed of above 200 kmph makes Ninja 650 the most affordable bike to offer such feat in India. Kawasaki is India’s second largest superbike brand, falling a bit behind Harley-Davidson due to their dealership reach. They have maintained a safe gap from Triumph bikes in sales number and thus, are facing no direct competition for most products. Kawasaki Ninja 650 is powered by a 649cc, twin-cylinder engine, producing 67.2 Bhp of maximum power at just 8000 rpm and 65.7 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. The bike weighs just 196 kg and comes with ZR-spec front and rear tires.
