Kawasaki has officially introduced its 2nd sub-500cc inline 4-cylinder bike for the global markets after the Ninja ZX-25R. This new motorbike is known as the ZX-4RR and it has been introduced in the United States with prices beginning at USD 9,699 (Rs 7.95 lakh).
The new ZX-4RR shares a similar aesthetic with its quarter-litre sister. It has a full fairing and a split-style saddle. The rear-view mirrors are positioned on the fairing and the front turn indicators are integrated into the fairing. This motorbike receives a side-slung exhaust instead of a compact unit, unlike the ZX-25R. Additionally, the Kawasaki Racing Team’s colours and graphics are included, popularly known as KRT Edition.
The new Kawasaki ZX-4RR offers a long list of features. It has LED lighting, power modes, a Bluetooth-enabled 4.3-inch colour TFT display, a three-level traction control system, and ABS.
A 399cc, inline, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with 16 valves (four valves per cylinder) powers the new bike. A remarkable 16,000 rpm rev range makes up the mechanical specifications. This motor comes with a 6-speed transmission with a slipper/assist clutch and a bidirectional quick-shifter.
The suspension components of the Ninja ZX-4RR are a rear mono-shock and 37mm upside-down Showa SFF-BP front forks. The Ninja ZX-4RR is constructed around a trellis frame.
While the rear forks can be adjusted for compression, rebound, and spring preload, the front forks can be adjusted for preload. This product’s braking system consists of two 290mm discs at the front and one 220mm rotor at the back. It is unlikely that this motorcycle would be available in India any time soon.
