2017 KTM 200 Duke has been launched in India for INR 1,43,500 (ex-showroom Delhi). The motorcycle is the only one from the trio that remains exactly the same as the older version but gains few goodies like 3 new shades, Orange alloy wheels and BS4 compliant engine. The motorcycle is using the same 199.5 cc, liquid cooled and fuel injected engine that produces a max of 25 PS and 19.2 Nm of torque.
2017 KTM Duke 200 Launched @ INR 1,43,500
It is now offered in 3 shades namely Orange, Black and White. The availability of new sticker patterns could not help the bike hide its old and curvy design. KTM has kept the exposed frame in the Black shade only. The motorcycle still carries the same 6-speed gearbox with no slipper clutch on offer. KTM 200 Duke is not equipped with ABS in its 2017 version.
While the bigger players get high tech features, the baby Duke remains calm with its same set of USD forks and rear suspension. It is the only Duke to come with the underbelly exhaust and claims the lightest dry weight in the whole lineup. KTM now offers 5 bikes in India and willingly kept the 2017 RC200 and 200 Duke closer to their older versions.
The price hike of just INR 500 can be clearly justified as 200 Duke has not witnessed any change change in price from a long time. The only thing that stays a surprise is that if KTM 250 Duke could be launched in India, why was KTM RC250 kept out of the limelight? The only reason that comes to mind currently is the non justified price gap.
