2021 KTM RC 200 Production Begins in India: The next-gen model of KTM RC 200 sportbike has been spotted undisguised in India for the very first time. As one can judge from the spy photo, the 200cc bike has already entered production at Bajaj Auto’s manufacturing plant located at Chakan, Pune. It is safe to assume that the 2021 KTM RC 200 is all set to be launched in the Indian markets very soon.
In terms of design, apart from a few changes, the 200cc version features similar styling when compared to the recently-spotted next-gen model of the RC 390. In comparison to its elder sibling, the 2021 RC 200 features a halogen headlight with LED DRLs, an under-belly exhaust system, and a different engine casing which is similar to the BS6 model of the Duke 200.
The next-gen model of the RC 200 features an all-new front fascia and side fairing. Apart from the front disc brake, the rest of the hardware components like the tyres, suspension, and the exhaust system look more or less similar to the current-gen model of the RC 200. The fuel tank of the motorcycle is now fully exposed, all due to the removal of a connecting part between the tank and fairing in favour of the straight flowing panels that directly connect with the face.
The front end of the next-gen RC 200 features a completely transparent bubble visor, showing the illuminated halogen headlight under the same frame and wider-than-ever presence with extended fins on both sides. It is expected that KTM would be equipping the upcoming model with a bigger fuel tank.
Mechanically, the 2021 KTM RC 200 would be equipped with the same 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine, which would come mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It is expected that KTM may also tweak the engine to generate slightly more power and torque. The current-gen model is good for a maximum power of 25HP along with a peak torque of 19.2 Nm. In terms of pricing, the 2021 model of RC 200 is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 2.10-2.15 lakhs.
