KTM Duke 790 is one of the most eagerly awaited motorcycles in India and it was recently spotted in a parking lot in Bangalore. The images of the motorcycle that surfaced online at that time were not that clear, but the recently surfaced new set of leaked images gives a clear view of the motorcycle in all its glory. The recent reports suggest the motorcycle to be launched in India on September 5, 2019, and as per one of the KTM dealers, the brand will be launching it at an ex-showroom price tag of INR 8.50 lakh.
The recently surfaced images show the India-spec motorcycle that includes the saree guard in addition to a crash guard mounted near the radiator. The motorcycle features a space for the number plate near the headlight while a large saree guard grille has been placed on the rear left side of the streetfighter.
Apart from these, the motorcycle retains the designing bits as seen on the international variant. The KTM Duke 790 features a huge TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity in addition to a complete LED lighting setup, inspired from the 1290 Super Duke R. The Duke 790 can be operated in four riding modes namely: Sport, Street, Rain, and Track.
Powering the motorcycle will be the newly developed 799cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled LC8c engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 105 HP at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 86 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The suspension duties on the motorcycle are handled by WP sourced 43mm inverted forks at the front while the rear gets a monoshock absorber.
The engine will be BS4-compliant while the brand plans on bringing only 100 units of the motorcycle in India in the first phase. The reports also suggest the localisation of Duke 790 in the future that will, in turn, make the motorcycle more affordable for the Indian audience.
