As per the latest buzz, KTM has announced a warranty and free service extension for its customers who are not able to get their bikes serviced due to the ongoing lockdown in the country.
As per the official announcement, all the KTM customers who have their warranty period expiration as well as free service period expiration in March, April, and May, are being offered an extension in the warranty and the free bike service till June 30, 2020. Since the nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic has made it difficult for the customers to get their bikes to the dealership for service, the brand has decided to do their bit and offer them the much-needed relaxation.
In addition to this, Pierer Industrie AG, the parent company for KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas motorcycles has officially suspended the production of the motorcycles due to the COVID-19 scare in Europe. The production has been suspended for only two weeks till April 10, 2020, though the production of the KTM motorcycles in the Indian markets, that is undertaken by the Bajaj Auto has been suspended for an indefinite period.
At present, the entry-level KTM motorcycles like 125 series, 200 series, 250 Duke, and the 390 series are not being manufactured at the Bajaj plant in India as the brand is keen on taking utmost care of its employees in the lockdown announced by the Indian government.
In the other news, the Austrian manufacturer KTM, as well as the German two-wheeler prodigy BMW Motorrad, has decided to not participate in the upcoming EICMA and INTERMOT motorcycle shows that were expected to commence in October and November in Milan and Germany respectively. Since both these European countries are facing the wrath of the coronavirus with highest casualties, both the brands feel obligated to think about the welfare of their staff as the utmost priority.
