KTM RC 125 has been launched in India for INR 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The colour pattern that the brand is using for their youngest race-spec motorcycle is totally different from the international-spec model. The primary colour on the RC 125 is orange while black plays an equally important role in the unique presence of the motorcycle.
The frame is painted black while wheels are using orange paint, resembling the same setup as KTM 125 Duke. The 124.7cc, single cylinder liquid cooled engine on the motorcycle is good for 14.5 HP of maximum power and 12 Nm of maximum torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
As the 125 Duke is available with single channel ABS, the RC 125 also gets the same ABS unit. The updated price tag of INR 1.30 lakh for the 125 Duke was clearly meant to cover the price gap from India-spec KTM RC 125, which now stands at just INR 17,000.
However, the price gap between KTM 200 Duke and RC 200 is exactly double than this value. As both the options share the majority of the parts, justifying the same is pretty impossible for the brand. The single-channel ABS seen on 125cc KTM models is the same one as 200cc options, with only bigger displacement options getting a chance to use dual channel ABS units.
The price range for KTM bikes now starts from INR 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, the India-spec KTM RC 125 competes with the likes of other fully-faired motorcycles like Yamaha R15 V3 and the Bajaj Pulsar RS200. KTM India posted more than 50,000 units in the sales chart in the last financial year and with the launch of RC125 in India, the sales number will rise further for sure. The motorcycle can be booked for INR 5,000 and deliveries are expected to begin by the end of this month.
