Renault Triber, the much-awaited 7-seater MPV with KWID-inspired fascia, has been officially unveiled in India. The car measures 3.99-meters in length, further getting benefits from the government’s compact car taxation slab. The best part for the car is its removable third-row of seats, providing emergency seating to those who have occasional guests with them. Renault Triber offers impressive boot area for the five-seat MPV fans.
The car comes with a modified KWID-sourced CMF-A frame, helping the MPV stay lighter, robust, and fuel-efficient at the same time. The front comes with a new set of headlights, all-new grille, and a different rear section with a more boxy appeal.
The most powerful factor to drive the Renault Triber ahead of the rivals is the practical use of space on the inside, offering 7.8-inch infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, dual tone interior scheme, 3.5-inch LCD display with a standard analogue console, and reclining second-row seats.
Renault Triber comes with ABS, rear parking sensors, speed warning system, and dual front airbags as standard. The top-spec variant is said to offer more airbags and a rearview camera. Renault is using an upgraded 1.0L, 3-cylinder engine on the Triber, which is good for 72 HP of maximum power at 6250 rpm and 96 Nm of peak torque at 3500 rpm.
The MPV will use the familiar 5-speed gearbox for the standard engine while 1.0L turbo petrol is expected to arrive with manual as well as AMT gearbox. The hint of 20% lower pricing than rivals makes the Renault Triber good for an INR 5.25 lakh starting price (expected ex-showroom pricing).
