The photos of 2020 Royal Enfield Classic with semi-digital instrument console have surfaced online, clearly showing a departure from the old-gen design through the addition of a digital display to the centre pod. The upper section is more or less similar to older Classic, adding an extension in the form of a rectangular display the can feature all the important additions like the odometer, trip meter, fuel level indicator, clock and much more.
It is even possible that the black round section on the right side is a cover that hides a needle-type fuel gauge. The display could also feature battery health and service reminder in the 2020 variant.
The right side of the grip comes with a unique setup that acts as an engine kill switch and further gets the third option that looks more like the engine start switch. The left side comes with regular indicator switch along with the new switch for low beam, high beam, and pass-light selection.
The brand seems to offer LED daytime running lights for the model as the headlight on/off switch is present on the right side. The 2020 Royal Enfield Classic will be available with a new engine casing, all-new brake and gear lever, updated frame and even a new rear lighting setup.
Royal Enfield will be using a BS6-compliant engine for their new model, further confusing buyers with which displacement segment will the brand first select for an upgrade. Most probably, they will update the 346cc engine prior to any other product so that the bestseller is counted as the most advanced option for this segment.
The price jump that one associate with this update may not be as huge as ever, considering the fact that they are totally changing the components and can acquire a better set of them for a better price. The 2020 Royal Enfield Classic will definitely be the right competitor to the Jawa series in India.
