Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet Edition has been launched in India for INR 2.12 lakh (on-road Chennai). This roughly equates to an ex-showroom price of INR 1.92 lakh for this adventure focused machine. Apart from the camouflage color pattern, Sleet Edition comes with Explorer kit as standard.
That counts those good looking, aluminum 26 liter waterproof panniers, aluminum off-road handlebar, engine protector and two year warranty. Buyers need to register online for this edition with token amount of INR 5000.
Just 500 units for the Himalayan Sleet Edition will be made by Royal Enfield. Booking are open from January 12 to January 30, 2018. Sleet Edition costs INR 28,000 more than the standard Himalayan.
Mechanically, there are no changes and the bike is powered by the same 411cc, oil cooled engine producing 23.5 BHP of power and 32 Nm of torque.
Himalayan uses a 5-speed gearbox and claims easy riding on triple digit speeds all day. Front suspension on the motorcycle offers 200mm of travel while rear monoshock is good for 180mm.
Speaking about the new motorcycle, Royal Enfield President Rudratej Singh said, “The new Himalayan Sleet is inspired by the terrain of Royal Enfield’s spiritual home – the Himalayas, its craggy land, the gorges, edgy peaks all brought together in the colours of the sleet.”
