Royal Enfield Resumes Production; Meteor 350 Launch Soon

According to recent reports, the Meteor 350 cruiser bike is expected to be launched soon as Royal Enfield has officially resumed the manufacturing operations at its Oragadam plant which is based near Chennai.

The production-ready variant of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 was spotted in its full glory back in March 2020 though the nationwide lockdown to curb the coronavirus was responsible for its never-ending delay.

The Thunderbird 350’s replacement under the brand’s portfolio was expected to be launched in April 2020 but due to the lockdown, the brand had halted all the operations back at its manufacturing units from March 23, 2020, considering the welfare of its employees.

Since the new government guidelines for the current lockdown that were implemented from May 1, 2020, allows the resumption of manufacturing and industrial operations across various parts of the country, it has allowed the Chennai-based manufacturer to speed up the expected launch of the Meteor 350.

The brand has resumed its operations at only its Oragadam plant near Chennai while other two manufacturing units will also resume the operations soon. Considering the new guidelines, the manufacturing plant now includes minimal staff to carry on the operations according to the social distancing norms and guidelines introduced by the government.

The upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will come equipped with a fuel-injected engine complying to the new BS6 emission norms. The motorcycle will get an all-new dual pod instrument console while the front fascia has been adorned with a round halogen headlight unit mated to LED DRLs. The teardrop fuel tank has been taken from the current-gen Thunderbird 350 variant while the split seat setup adds to its authenticity. RE Meteor 350 is expected to be launched in India at a starting price tag of INR 1.68 lakh.
