The electric vehicle segment is growing rapidly in our country these days, and hence, various new businesses are trying their luck by entering the EV market. The same goes with Pune-based Tork Motors, which has been planning to launch its electric motorcycle named T6X for the past 7 years and has been spotted multiple times. But this time, the bike’s production-spec variant has been spotted testing, and therefore, we can expect an early launch sometime next year.
The test mule was spotted in 2020 as well, but at that time, the whole body, including body panels and battery pack, was camouflaged absolutely. Looking at the recently spotted test mule, it’s just partially disguised and appears similar to the production-spec model spotted in 2020. However, the design is a bit different from the previously spotted model. It now gets a triangle-shaped headlamp unit, a muscular fuel-tank type panel, a split-style seat setup, and a split pillion grab rail.
Furthermore, the T6X bike is going to get all-LED lighting and a fully digital instrument console. It is also likely to come with turn-by-turn navigation and Bluetooth connectivity features. While the exact battery and motor specs are not available yet, the electric bike will come equipped with lithium-ion batteries. It is also worth noting that Tork Motors revealed some time ago that the company is going to use a motor based on Axial Flux technology.
Besides, the company can offer the bike with a quick charge option and a 100-kilometre range with a single charge. It is also being said that the brand has recently met the government of India’s FAME II regulations and, therefore, will be eligible for subsidies on electric vehicles. Tork Motors has tied up with auto component manufacturer Bharat Forge to produce T6X motorcycles. Apart from the collaboration with Bharat Forge, the brand intends to tie up with three-wheeler makers for the supply of powertrains.
