According to a Royal Enfield dealer in Pune, the much-awaited Thunderbird 350X and 500X will launch in India on Feb 28. Thunderbird series will get an instant boost in sales with the introduction of 350X and 500X.
Buyers who need to spend an extra INR 20,000 on accessorizing their motorcycle will now save that money as Royal Enfield will offer alloy wheels, custom painted fuel tank and much more as standard on these motorcycles.
Those who were waiting for the bigger 650cc twins, it will certainly take time for them to arrive. Thunderbird 350X and 500X will continue with the same 346cc and 499cc engine duo, producing nothing less than 28 Nm and 41.4 Nm respectively.
Royal Enfield could introduce the 350X and 500X in limited numbers but it would be beneficial for them to launch both of them as standard models along with standard spoke wheeled variants.
More than these two, buyers are waiting for Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 to launch in India. Royal Enfield has developed an all new 648cc, twin cylinder engine producing 47 HP at 7100 rpm and 52 Nm at 4000 rpm.
The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. They are offering dual channel ABS, fuel injection, bigger brakes and much more on 650c duo. Royal Enfield is expected to price all upcoming models competitively.
