Royal Enfield 650 Twins Get PowerTRONIC Plug and Play ECU

The owners of the Royal Enfield 650 Twins will be delighted to know that Race Dynamics, an Automotive Research and Development facility in Bangalore is offering a plug and play ECU for both the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650. Amidst many custom bike performance enhancing firms, the PowerTRONIC Engine Management System offered by Race Dynamics has claimed to increase the power and torque figures by 3.35 HP and 3.15 Nm respectively.

Powering the Royal Enfield 650 Twins is a 648cc, parallel twin engine, capable of churning out a maximum power of 47 HP and 52 Nm of utmost torque. The updated power and torque values after the installation of ECU stands at 50.35 HP and 55.15 NM respectively.

The ECU that can be installed in under 40 minutes will boost up the power and torque outputs by controlling both the fuel and ignition in order to deliver optimal performance and better throttle response. According to Race Dynamics, the Plug and Play ECU has been specifically designed by putting in numerous hours in research and development, validation as well as considering the rider feedback.

The PowerTRONIC ECU is available with 2 custom engine maps: Race and Race+. The first map allows the rider to gain performance in mid-range while the Race+ allows the rider to improve the performance in the mid-range as well as top range. The rider can switch amidst the two maps even when the engine is running.  The maps offer better transient response thereby decreasing the throttle sluggishness in low-speed riding conditions.

The customers can avail the ECU with an optional quick shifter for smoother clutchless upshifts. The power boost offered by the Plug and Play ECU does not tamper with the engine refinement and helps in minimising the vibrations to a large extent. According to the brand, the installation of the Plug and Play ECU doesn’t require any wire cutting. This allows the motorcycle to return to its stock condition once the ECU is removed.
