Royal Enfield has the most variable numbers for the financial year sales report, starting with the highest number on the list and continuously falling throughout the year with two or three exceptions. Even the rising number was not comparable to the first three months of the fiscal, raising a question regarding the drops and leaving analysts in a state of confusion. The biggest factor that influenced the RE sales was one internal problem and those who have not guessed yet, it was the workers’ strike that brought a reduction in a number of units produced and hence, a straight reduction in the number of deliveries.
Another factor that contributed here was the introduction of Jawa motorcycles, primarily affecting the last half of this list. The total number for FY 2018-19 was 8,06,870 for the brand, still seen as a great number when other brands were struggling to find buyers.
Royal Enfield has no direct rival except for Jawa motorcycles and their launch of Trials 350 and 500 clears that they have intentions of keeping every genre of fans happy from their side. The recent monthly sales number pushed Royal Enfield to the seventh spot in March 2019. At present, no other brand is in the condition to rival Royal Enfield except for the six major names in the Indian automotive market: Hero MotorCorp, Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor, Suzuki, Honda 2-Wheelers, and Yamaha.
