Taking into consideration the coronavirus pandemic, Royal Enfield has decided to suspend its operations all over the world. The Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer has decided to halt the operations at its Tiruvottiyur, Oragadam and Vallam Vadagal manufacturing units in Chennai as well as the Technical centres in the state.
In addition to this, the brand has also suspended all the activities at Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire in the UK while all the dealerships, as well as the brand’s offices, have also been closed amidst the global outbreak of Coronavirus. In the light of fighting the disease, the operations shall remain shut till the time the government offers a green light on restarting the operations after handling the pandemic situation at their very best.
The brand has suspended all the activities at its manufacturing units as well as in offices so as to avoid mass gathering of the workers which is the only necessary step required to get the COVID-19 situation under control. All the decisions have been taken by the brand to keep its employees as well as other temporary or permanent staff safe during the time of need.
All the workers will be working from their respective homes for an indefinite amount of time while the brand will not deduct the salaries of its employees at this crucial time and will not make any reduction in the workforce.
The brand has further ensured its staff that the situation will be closely monitored to their best interest and the operations shall begin only after the proper administrative guidance. Apart from Royal Enfield, all the other manufacturing brands have also suspended their operations due to the pandemic situation getting out of hand in India as well as in other countries.
