Royal Enfield Himalayan is rumored to launch with fuel injection and ABS in India. The report claims that the same will launch in May 2017 while it has been on sale in the UK since last few months. It will be a good step in order to bring down the hype that was created with most buyers claiming inferior quality parts and flaws in the Himalayan. Royal Enfield has even prepared a list of parts that are to be replaced when the motorcycle comes for a service at any of the service center around India.
Royal Enfield Planning to Launch Himalayan with Fi & ABS in India
They have even directed the people at service centers to deal politely with the customers and listen to the problems carefully and cure each one of them properly. The current generation of Himalayan is powered by a 411cc, single cylinder carburetor fed engine producing 24.5 BHP at 6500 rpm and 32 Nm at 4000-4500 rpm. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The addition of fuel injection and ABS would further improve the driving and safety standards of the motorcycle.
Royal Enfield was well known for its rugged products and Himalayan became the first product to encounter such a failure for its built quality. Hope they improve these things in the next batch of products as it is not easy for someone to buy the product after listening to all that negative stuff around the internet. Introduction of fuel injection may end up the cases of ignition failure while ABS may attract a new segment of buyers that prefer safety over all other features available on a motorcycle.
