Royal Enfield Reduces Service Cost in India: Royal Enfield has officially extended the service and oil-change intervals for its Bullet, Classic and Thunderbird series. The initiative taken by the brand has brought the ownership cost of the motorcycles down by 40% for three consecutive years.
The service interval has been changed to 6months/6000km (whichever comes first) from the previous rule of servicing the motorcycle every 3months/3000km. In addition to this, the brand has also revised the oil change interval from 6months/5000km to 12months/10,000 km (whichever comes earlier).
Royal Enfield has started using new technological measures and processes for servicing their products which has made the brand increase the service and oil change intervals. The brand announced the new initiative at the recent launch of its Bullet 350 X series.
The newly-revealed Bullet 350 X standard variant and electric start variant have been launched at a price tag of INR 1,12,000 and INR 1,26,692 respectively. The prices mentioned here are ex-showroom. The motorcycles have been subjected to minor cosmetic changes which include a minimal chrome treatment to the body panels and a redesigned logo for the fuel tank. The motorcycle series is further available in fresh paint schemes.
The customers can avail the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 X standard variant in Bullet Silver, Sapphire Blue and Onyx Black colour options while the electric start variant of the same gets Jet Black, Regal Red and Royal Blue colour options.
Apart from the minimal cosmetic changes, the motorcycles remain mechanically unaltered. In addition to these, the brand is also planning to launch its entire portfolio with a BS6-compliant engine before April 1, 2020, to comply with the new emission norms set by the Indian government.
