Royal Enfield To Stop Selling the 411cc Himalayan Model In India

With the latest leaks on the much-anticipated Himalayan 450, various details and specifications are out now. Taking these leaks by a grain of salt, let’s analyse the 450cc model and how it is going to affect the already so popular and loved Himalayan 411.

Even though the original Himalayan is selling all around the world pretty well, the new Himalayan still seems to be a challenge to the old-timer. Without a doubt, 411 is one of the best, if not the best, ADV out in the market, but it has its drawbacks. For example, the off-road mechanics of 411 are amazing, but it doesn’t have the grunt for sharp turns and it lacks performance on the tarmac as well.

The Himalayan 450 is going to be packed with a liquid-cooled, 450cc, 1-cylinder engine. It is likely to deliver 40bhp and 45 Nm of torque and come with a 6-speed gearbox. As one can judge from the recent spy photos, the front wheel seems to be 21-inch in size and the rear wheel seems to be 17-inch in size. Besides, we expect the upcoming 450cc Himalayan to come with dual-sport rubber by CEAT.

Some of the key expected features of the RE Himalayan 450 include – three riding modes; Rain, Road and Off-road with a ride-by-wire throttle and switchable ABS (rear wheel). We might see it host a 20-litre fuel tank, which will add to its bulky aesthetic.

The digital instrument cluster of the 450 might not be a full-colour TFT unit. There is some news about the indication of another version of the ADV, known as K1X. It is supposed to be a hardcore version of the same bike, which is known as the K1.

To live up to the name of the Himalayan 450 Raid, we might see it with a more powerful engine, upgraded suspension, wire-spoked wheels with tubeless tyres and an auxiliary fuel tank. The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is expected to be launched in India by early next year and after the official launch, the Himlayan 411 will get discontinued across the globe.
