A unique proposition is being offered by a restaurant situated on the outskirts of Pune to increase the flow of customers. The restaurant has announced that they will award a brand new Royal Enfield Classic 350 to any customer who manages to finish the special ‘Bullet Thali’ within 60 minutes.
To recover from the losses of the COVID-19 pandemic, Shivraj Hotel decided to launch the ‘Bullet Thali’ challenge in which the customers are supposed to eat the special non-veg thali within 60 minutes as soon as the Thali is served on the table.
If the customer manages to do so, he/she will be awarded a brand-new Royal Enfield Classic 350 worth INR 1.81 lakhs (ex-showroom). Atul Waiker, the owner of the restaurant said that it is a way to invite more customers to the restaurant. He has placed five brand-new Royal Enfield Classic motorcycles in the verandah of the restaurant to attract onlookers. The information pertaining to the contest is all around including a lot of banners and it is also listed even on the menu of the restaurant.
The ‘Bullet Thali’ is a special-made platter, and there are 12 types of dishes that are made up of 4 kgs of mutton and fish. About 55 restaurant team members work together to prepare the thali that consists of dishes like fried surmai, pomfret fried fish, dry mutton, grey mutton, chicken tandoori, chicken masala, and prawn biriyani, which is known as Kolumbi in the local language. The price of this ‘Bullet Thali’ is Rs 2,500 each, and per the details revealed by the owner, about 65 thalis are sold every single day.
This is not the first time that Atul Waiker has come up with a unique idea to boost sales. He became popular earlier as well by introducing a challenge that requires four people to finish an 8 kg Thali in 60 minutes and the prize money was Rs 5,000. This challenge was known as ‘Ravan Thali’.
Somnath Pawar, a resident of Solapur District of Maharashtra has already managed to win the contest by finishing the Thali within 60 minutes. He has won a brand-new Royal Enfield Classic 350 and there are four more bikes to be won. There are many such contests across India where the restaurant owners attract the crowd by offering similar challenges. There is also a paratha contest where a person has to finish a paratha of 4 kg within a certain time to win cash.
