The bookings for the 250cc Suzuki Gixxer SF are now unofficially open with select brand dealerships across the country. The launch in India will take place officially on May 20, 2019. Suzuki is preparing for the second innings in the lightweight motorcycle segment as current-gen models are serving almost no purpose in terms of competition to the rivals.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is expected to bring an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1.50 lakh, taking the competition one step higher for the quarter-litre Yamaha Fazer and Honda CBR. The indirect competition includes Bajaj Pulsar RS200 in the faired and KTM 250 Duke in the streetfighter section.
The powerful motorcycle is good for 26.5 HP at 9000 rpm and 22.6 Nm at 7500 rpm, leaving Yamaha Fazer behind by a huge margin. The launch will also confirm the use of dual channel ABS for the first time on a Suzuki local production model.
The 250cc Gixxer SF is said to support LED front and rear lights along with other features like fuel injection, bigger disc brakes, and familiar exhaust design to the current-gen 150cc Gixxer. Apart from the SF 250, Suzuki is also expected to launch the updated model of 150cc Gixxer SF in India on May 20, 2019.
